Julienne & Michael

The weather in the summer of 2019 was, in one word, wet. Julienne and Michael’s wedding day, however, was no different.

There was a gentle drizzle of rain in the morning as the couple prepared for their ceremony - Julienne, at her childhood home, and Michael, at the couples’ new home. Their wedding ceremony was held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where close to 120 family and friends gathered to witness the nuptials, followed by the traditional Filipino ceremony. As a personal touch, Julienne’s cousin, Raymond (a talented violinist), provided beautiful accompaniment with the church musicians.

It was a magical moment following their ceremony - the rain subsided. What it left behind was the beautiful scent of fresh earth - the scent of new beginnings.

Following the ceremony, the couple proceeded to their new home, where they celebrated the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony with Michael’s family. They enjoyed some refreshments and mingled with their families before continuing on to their formals and reception in the evening.

Julienne & Michael’s reception was held at the stunning Top of the Inn at the Delta Hotels by Marriott. When designing this event, we chose to highlight the venue’s unique starlit ceiling and sweeping Edmonton views, so we chose a white on white look with accents of silver and blue to coordinate with the elements of the ballroom. Touches of greenery and plenty of candlelight brought warmth into the room.

The guests were delighted with an impressive buffet, live music, and many surprising and emotional performances during the program, including a Disney musical toast to the bride.

The evening closed with the couple’s first dance, which turned into a brilliant dance performance by the couple and their closest friends. Later in the evening, the couple was blessed with yet another magical moment - a meteor streaked across the Edmonton night sky like a firework - a dazzling start to their new beginning.
